CodeRED to Provide Mass Notification Services to the Community

The Village of South River and the Township of Machar (July 16, 2015) have contracted with Emergency Communications Network, LLC to license its CodeRED high-speed notification solution. The CodeRED system provides the Village of South River and the Township of Machar officials the ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or the entire community.

Log onto the South River Machar Fire Department’s website, www.srmfd.com and follow the link to the "CodeRED Community Notification Enrollment" page. Those without Internet access may call the Fire Department’s Administration line (705-386-0066), to supply their information over the phone. Required information includes first and last name, street address (physical address, no P.O. boxes), city, postal code, and primary phone number, additional phone numbers can be entered as well.

Permits are required year round except for campfires and outdoor fireplaces, subject to conditions. The cost of a fire permit is $5. Burning is permitted in the evening. Fire permits may be obtained online by visiting www.srmfd.com or by calling the Fire Dept 705-386-0066 if internet is not accessible.

Superior Tanker Shuttle Accredited

We are now Superior Tanker Shuttle Accredited!  We would like to thank all of our firefighters for their hard work and dedication in meeting the standard.  We would also like to thank the Sundridge Strong Fire Department for their help today.  Despite the weather we managed to shuttle over 24000 gallons of water in a 2 hour time frame maintaining an uninterrupted 200 gallon per minute flow.  Residents of South River and Machar that are not in hydrant protected areas are encouraged to contact their insurance companies to let them know we are accredited.
